A Buzz from Your Potato Chips
Caffeinated snacks.
user ratingIf the caffeine boost from a cup of coffee isn’t enough, try some caffeinated foods that are making a place for themselves. Joining the lineup of buzzed doughnuts and bagels are potato chips and sunflower seeds that pack a punch of energy.
Golden Flake Snack Foods Inc. has introduced to the southeast Phoenix Fury Potato Chips—they taste like barbecue chips, and each 3.5-ounce bag contains the same amount of caffeine as 3.5 cups of brewed coffee. Must be the mixture that the chips are coated in, which is made up of flour, salt, caffeine, vitamins and the amino acid taurine, a key ingredient in Red Bull. (Buyers note: These chips are not recommended for pregnant or nursing women, young children or anyone who is sensitive to caffeine.)
One more way to get a jolt is with SumSeeds: one 3.5-ounce bag of these roasted sunflower seeds is infused with 120 ml of caffeine. Wow…I’m jittery just writing this. —Denise Shoukas
