Applewood French Toast

Oo-la-la – Brunch Toast with Great French Taste
user rating

For a delicious new take on a holiday breakfast treat, try French toast made with Chabaso Cranberry Pecan Loaf. This all-natural bread has no preservatives and no trans-fats – it’s made with whole grains, cranberries, pecan morsels, flaxseed and honey, and topped with oats.

Ingredients:

½ lb Applewood smoked bacon
1 cup whole milk
1 egg
¼ tsp cinnamon
1 oz CT maple syrup
1 Chabaso Cranberry Pecan Loaf cut in 1 inch slices

Method:

1. To grease the skillet, cook the distinctive bacon in the skillet before you make the French toast.  Then serve the bacon with the French toast.

2. Mix the milk, eggs, cinnamon, and maple syrup together with a whisk in a small bowl.  Dip the Cranberry Pecan slices in the batter for a moment (for moister toast: allow to sit in the mix for a longer period of time) and carefully drop onto the hot bacon greased skillet. Cook both sides of the toast until golden brown.  Remove slice from skillet and drizzle with CT Maple Cream Cheese frosting and serve with a side of Applewood bacon. Enjoy!
