they look awsome. I hope that they come to my neighborhood soon. I love limes.

Two years ago, an organic citrus grower in Ojai, CA led me down a black earthed row lined with baby trees. In a hushed voice he pointed to a tree from which a black, finger shaped fruit hung: my first peek at a finger lime, an Australian fruit just recently cultivated in the United States. Recently the LA Times reported that finger limes are making their way into local farmers' markets and Whole Foods stores. Just days before, I'd been sharing a stash of these rare fruits a grower had given me with bartenders, friends, and candy makers - mainly to see the expression of delight that crosses everyone's face when they squeeze the fruit to eject the green caviar-like sacs which explode in your mouth. The excitement around this fruit reminds me of my first sight and taste of a domestic kiwi fruit, back when. This weekend I will have the opportunity to learn more about these new fruits. Is there anything you'd like to know? And how would you use them? Here's a pic: http://www.flickr.com/photos/susievision/5158038899/
