Biscottea and Bis*Coffee

When Laurance Milner decided Italian-style biscotti left a void in the tea-drinking world, he set out to fill it with a tasty cookie that paired perfectly with morning or afternoon tea. To him, this naturally meant adding real tea leaves and herbs to the mix, and Biscottea cookies were the result. These shortbread squares come in five flavors that mimic the taste of their namesake tea varieties: Mint Tea, Honeybush Tea, Chai Tea, Earl Grey Tea and caffeine-free Blueberry Tea. (Earl Grey, Chai and Blueberry shortbreads are also available gluten-free.) In response to the envy of coffee lovers, Bis*Coffee shortbread soon joined the line, baked with fair-trade organic coffee, in Espresso, Cappuccino and Mocha.—Eva Meszaros
