Cat Cora to Present sofi™ Awards
Red-Carpet Event Slated for Summer Fancy Food Show in Washington, D.C.
user ratingNew York, N.Y. (March 29, 2011)- (Virtual Press Office) – Cat Cora, a noted chef and television food personality, will serve as keynote speaker and presenter for the 39th sofi™ Awards at the Summer Fancy Food Show, the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade announced today.
The sofi Awards recognize excellence in specialty foods and beverages in 33 categories and are considered the top honor in the $70-billion specialty food industry. Awards range from Outstanding Appetizer, Antipasto and Dip to Outstanding Vinegar. “sofi” stands for “Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation.”
The red-carpet awards ceremony is a highlight of the Summer Fancy Food Show, the largest marketplace for specialty foods and beverages in North America. The show will take place July 10 – 12, 2011, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C.
Cora, a chef, cookbook author and food entrepreneur, made food world history when she was named the Food Network’s first and only female Iron Chef America. “We have many member companies that are fueled by women entrepreneurs with a passion for food. We know Cat’s enthusiasm and drive will inspire the hundreds of food artisans and entrepreneurs attending our special Awards event,” says Ann Daw, president of the NASFT.
“I am so pleased to participate in the sofi Awards, and to be honoring makers of the best in specialty food,” says Cora.
The sofi Awards and Keynote Address will take place July 11, 2011 at 4:30 p.m. at the Washington Convention Center. The Summer Fancy Food Show is a trade-only event open to members of the specialty food trade and qualified journalists.
