user ratingWe know that food can fuel the body and soul, but it turns out it can also be used to create a Formula Three racecar. Researchers from the University of Warwick in the U.K. have come up with the first model version that runs on chocolate oils.
They didn’t stop there. The foam for the car seat is made of soybean, and the steering wheel is crafted out of carrot fibers. Were they hoping for a car they could snack on during a long trip? No. They wanted to make a statement that you can approach technology in a green fashion by using agricultural products and waste as the basis for materials and fuel in the automotive industry.—Denise Shoukas
