Dark Chocolate from Madagascar

Good chocolate that helps the poor.

Some former Peace Corps volunteers have created a business that is based on sharing profits, ownership and skills with the people of Madagascar in an effort to help reduce poverty. And we get something out of it too-supreme dark chocolate.

Madécasse (mah-DAY-cas) stands out from other chocolate because it's made with Madagascar cocoa, thought to be the finest, and is made from start to finish on the tropical island of Madagascar, which is entirely organic and virtually free of pesticides and herbicides. Natural mulch and composts are the only fertilizers used.

Madécasse chocolate reportedly generates four times more revenue for the people of Madagascar than if they exported the cocoa through Fair-Trade avenues. The dark chocolate bars are available in 63%, 67%, 70%, 75%, and the company offers a line of premium Madagascar vanilla products as well.
