More Than 500 Products Down; 1,100 to Go
user ratingApril 13, 2011 - Day 1 of sofi judging closed with the judges tasting nearly 548 products in 12 categories. They started the day with food gifts and jams, nibbled on cheese and crackers by mid-day and, if the smell wafting out of the sofi kitchen is an indication, are ending with cookies and desserts and dessert toppings. (No word yet whether anyone will actually be eating dinner tonight.)
Tomorrow’s round of judging begins at 9 a.m. and will cover another 11 categories, including Snack Food (106 entries), Confections (42), Hot Beverage (36) and Cooking Sauce and Flavor Enhancer (126!) A total of 609 products will be tasted by the end of the day, and our stomachs ache just thinking about it. Check in tomorrow for more from the judging floor.
