Eat Chocolate, Feel Better
Craving an overall sense of calm? Have some chocolate with good intentions.
user ratingIntentional Chocolate, founded by Jim Walsh, founder and CEO of Hawaiian Vintage Chocolates, one of the first companies to successfully grow and produce chocolate in the U.S., promises a sense of well-being. Instead of herbs or added supplements, the chocolate is ‘intention enhanced’ and claims to have a positive effect on mood and energy.
Just how does an intention get into the chocolate? Experienced, meditating monks in Madison, Wisc., project positive intention into a device developed by the HESA Institute (Human Energy Systems Alliance) that is designed to capture, hold and then transfer intention into food. The company has done studies that suggest that within three days of eating Intentional Chocolate, you will feel less stressed, more focused and energized.
It may seem unbelievable, so I tried it myself. Aside from being delicious—the company offers Caramels, Raspberry Triangles, 68% Dark Chocolate Pistoles, Hot Chocolate, Gojiberry clusters and other items like chocolate coffee—it honestly made me feel good. I tasted the caramels and after two pieces I felt calmer.
Intentional Chocolate also gives back. It donates 50 percent of its profits to organizations committed to the benefit of humankind, including 10 percent that is donated to the Deer Park Buddhist Center in Madison. To learn more or to purchase, visit www.intentionalchocolate.com. -Nicole Denis
