Global Blueberry Madness
Flavored ale, gum, water, cottage cheese…
user ratingThe season for fresh blueberries may have passed, but you can enjoy the taste in a beer pint filled with Blue Point’s Blueberry Ale, made in its brewery in Patchogue, Long Island. By adding 132 pounds of blueberries to each special batch, the brewmasters have created a subtle, refreshing beer. On first sniff, you’re hit with a strong blueberry aroma, but once the elixir hits your taste buds, you experience only a subtle flavor, much like the effect of Lambic beers or domestic beers infused with apricots.
Still craving more blueberry inspiration? Here are some ideas from around the world: Japan has a Blueberry Mint Flavored Gum by Cadbury; Blueberry Cottage Cheese by Madeta is all the rage in the Czech Republic; Blueberry Marmalade by La Campagnola comes from Argentina; China touts a Blueberry Vinegar Drink by Yakeshi Ya Loa Da Beverage; and Blueberry Flavored Water by Hartwall is a thirst quencher in Finland.
