Outstanding Salad Dressing
Lucini Italia Co. has earned the distinction of winning back-to-back sofi™ honors for the same product—its Delicate Cucumber & Shallot Artisan Vinaigrette. “We’re thrilled,” says Meagan Parrado, communications manager for the Miami, Fla.-based supplier. “It’s a phenomenal product and we knew we wanted to re-enter it this year.”
Parrado explains that all Lucini products are produced in Italy, but the rise in the Euro drove the company to explore other options. “It became necessary to look into producing some products in America while keeping true to our brand promise,” she continues. Lucini also saw an opportunity to “bring the restaurant experience home” with the new line, according to Parrado. The company soon released its Artisan Vinaigrettes.
Delicate Cucumber & Shallot Artisan Vinaigrette boasts a homemade taste and fresh ingredients. Lucini uses locally sourced garlic, parsley and buttermilk to produce a dressing that is gluten-free, without refined sugar or dried herbs. Parrado describes it as “very versatile—you can use it on much more than just salads.” She suggests drizzling the vinaigrette over pan-fried salmon or using it as a marinade.
Other bestsellers include Fig & Walnut Savory Artisan Balsamic Vinaigrette and flavor-infused extra virgin olive oils. By remaining loyal to culinary traditions of Italy, while also promoting eco-consciousness and health through innovative products, Lucini’s reputation is poised to endure. —Alex Menglide
