Modern Organic Food Made for a Prince
Actress Turned Organic Farmer
user ratingAn unlikely partnership has formed between British actress Liz Hurley and sustainable-living advocate Prince Charles. They plan to launch a line of organic foods, which will be produced at Hurley's 400-acre biodynamic organic farm in western England and will be sold this fall by Duchy Originals, the Prince’s sustainable food company. Since the inception of his company in 1990, the Prince of Wales has been committed to promoting organic food and farming. The new line will include pork, poultry, lamb and rare-breed beef currently sold at local farmers' markets, as well as organic grains harvested at Hurley's farm. Hurley’s humanely raised beef, pork, and lamb already are favorites of top chefs and farmers’ markets around the U.K. She’s also a supporter of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, as she believes that organic food may help reduce the risk of breast cancer.—Denise Shoukas
