Stuffed French Toast Recipe

A perfect breakfast or snack, this is a healthier, more nutritious version of French Toast. Lightly sweetened goat cheese is the surprising, delicious filling for decadent french toast.

Serves: 4

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients:

4 slices (about 2” thick) dense bread, like challah
4 oz. Belle and the Bees Breakfast Cheese
8 strawberries, sliced
2 tbsp butter
1 cup buttermilk
3 large eggs
1 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp lemon zest
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp salt

Method:

1. Cut slices almost in half, leaving one edge intact.

2. Spread cheese on the inside, then layer strawberries and close bread.

3. Whisk buttermilk and remaining ingredients.

4. Heat pan over medium-high heat and melt butter.

5. Dip bread into mixture, covering sides and edges.

6. Fry until each side is golden brown.

7. Keep warm in 250 degree oven while preparing remaining French toast.
