Dark chocolate is all the rage these days—the darker, the better—while milk chocolate has been relegated to the status of kids’ stuff. The team at Tcho swam against the tide to create a “grown-up” milk chocolate, and thus began the SeriousMilk project. The company even went so far as to offer a “beta” sample to test with chocolate lovers before finalizing the product. Two years later, the SeriousMilk line has perfected sophisticated milk chocolate, using organic and Fair Trade certified ingredients, in two key flavors: Classic, using 39 percent cacao with notes of caramel, butterscotch, honey and vanilla and Cacao (53 percent with subtle cream and soft caramel notes).—Eva Meszaros
