The World's Biggest Chocolate Bar
Believe it or not, it’s educational.
user ratingThey say you have to catch kids’ attention to get them to learn. We’d say World’s Finest Chocolate’s 12,190-pound chocolate almond bar is doing the trick. This gargantuan treat is traveling around the U.S. on the “Think Big. Eat Smart!” tour, which is feeding students the message of eating right and staying fit through school presentations.
“We purposely made this bar to be an example of portion distortion,” says Eddie Opler, chief executive officer of World’s Finest Chocolate, in a press release from the company. “The bar is huge, but the big idea is eating right and staying fit.” During the tour, the company reels in attention with the chocolaty spectacle, then drives the message home, stressing the importance of moderation when eating sweets. The presentation involves an educational video featuring original music and kids talking to kids about healthy eating and active lifestyle choices.
So how many people can that bar feed? Measuring 21 feet long, 3 feet high, and 4 feet wide, this replica of World’s Finest’s “dollar bar” has an estimated 209,000 servings. Recently certified by Guinness World Records as the World’s Largest Chocolate, it’s already made appearances in Nebraska, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina and Ohio; the tour will conclude next May at the Sweets and Snacks Expo in Chicago.
Want to beat the record? Here are the ingredients World’s Finest Chocolate used to make the Big Bar:
- 1,200 pounds of almonds
- 5,500 pounds of sugar
- 2,000 pounds of milk powder
- 1,700 pounds of cocoa butter
- 1,400 pounds of chocolate liquor
